Regarding next school year's arrangements & integrated swimming lessons for Nursery, K1 & K2.
Dear parents,
From today, you can find calendars for the next school year online on www.internewton.com/hxj, under the information - calendar section.
Class-room & teacher arrangements will be confirmed over the summer, all parents are invited to the "Meet & Greet" on August 15th (Saturday, casual arrivals during periods 9:30 - 11:30 & afternoon period 12:30 - 14:30), where you will receive important documents from the school and get to meet and have a talk with your teachers. If you cannot make the Meet & Greet, you will receive a phone call from your teachers to advice you about semester start arrangements after 14:30 on August 15th (if you are not in the country, please bring your child to school on their first day to receive the documents in person).
Additionally, as informed in last years school letter, this coming year will see an integration of the swimming program, which is being incorporated into the standard time-tables and curriculum at Newton Hui Xin campus. It will provide our wonderful children with a great opportunity to learn to swim, to move confidently in the water and have fun.
Together with their class-mates and class-teachers every Nursery, K1 & K2 class will go to the pool once per week where they will be coached by our swim-coach and swim-coach-assistant. While class-room teachers and assistants help to get children ready to go swim, monitor their students and are of course welcomed to join-in the water exercises as well.
From the school's perspective, the sooner that children learn to swim the better... A confident swimmer possess a strong safety skill that is not just practical, but also super fun and healthy! We had pre-nursery families ask if we plan to open "baby-swimming-classes" for the littlest ones and are currently considering the practicalities of such a program for the possible future, but not from August.
On a more practical note, children who are recovering from an illness or have experienced recent diarrhea and cannot join the weekly swimming lessons, will be observed and taken care of by fellow level teachers and stay with friends they are already familiar with within their levels, until their class returns from the lesson.
On the rare occasion that your child is unable to attend swimming lessons due to medical reasons, please inform admissions by email at admissions-hxj@internewton.com before June 24th.
Finally, I wish all of you a wonderful upcoming Dragon Boat Festival and remind you that the school will be closed on Monday, June 22nd. For those of you who were able to join the children for making "Zhong Zi", hope you enjoyed it. Look forward to see you on June 26th at the Summer Concert and K2 Graduation Ceremony.
