It's that time again, when the wormwood is shaking in the wind and the leaves are fragrant. Green calamus, colorful sachets, spicy wine, delicious zongzi, exciting dragon boat races, these are the markings of Dragon Boat Festival. Various games rich in history, culture and tradition, with the aroma of the Dragon Boat Festival, are just the start of our students’ festival journey!
The traditional activities of the Dragon Boat Festival are inseparable from a variety of Dragon Boat Festival crafts. There are small sachets filled with various herbs which can be hung to keep the mosquitoes away. Handmade dragon boats made of various materials are interesting and cute. Each handmade rice dumpling has its own characteristics, and wormwood flower arrangements add to the atmosphere of the Festival. After the rice dumpling running game is over, you can use the grass stems picked from the garden to play a unique Dragon Boat Festival grass fighting game …
Zongzi are not only sweet and delicious, but they also taste of ritual during Dragon Boat Festival. Zongzi has become a traditional Chinese delicacy, forming a unique zongzi culture. In order to let children have a more intuitive understanding and experience of zongzi, we launched a cultural experience activity and recruited experts to show us how to make all of the different types of zongzi from around China. After the event, we asked the children what the zongzi looked like and what kind they like to eat.
During Dragon Boat Festival, the most lively event is the dragon boat race. The long wooden dragons, dexterous individual dragon boats and handmade dragon boats. Racing of all kinds of dragon boats have made the event a wonderful highlight! The children experienced the culture of Dragon Boat Festival more deeply in the excitement of dragon boat race. With everyone’s joyful faces, the annual Dragon Boat Festival has come to a successful ending.
