On Tuesday the 13th of November vice-principal and head of transportation Ms. Jessie together with bus monitors and drivers began the on-site safety training for children who take bus.
Today we started with bus #4 and all the children who take bus #4 gathered together at 12:00 where Ms. Jessie and the bus #4 monitor and driver explained to children the basic safety rules of the bus, which they have to adhere by.
1)Sit down, don't stand when the bus is in motion
2) Buckle your seatbelt tight and do not unbuckle before the bus stops at your bus-stop
3) Listen and follow instructions by the bus monitor, driver or your parents at all times and
4) When disembarking, mind the steps and wait to hold hands with the authorized person picking you up.
Ms. Jessie had invited a few teachers to "role-play" as parents and the bus monitor would have to manage and instruct them in how to safely make a line for pick-up.
The children thought it was a fun make pretend activity, but for us it was an important training in how to observe the proper procedures of especially, how to disembark a bus safely.
Sincerely,
Campus Management
