Warm Opening: Decorating a Festive Fairytale
Each year, we specially prepare real Christmas trees for the children. As the vibrant green trees are brought into the campus, children can touch the pine needles, smell the fresh scent of the trees, and experience the true essence of "Christmas" through intimate contact with nature. Their imaginations of Christmas are no longer just pictures in storybooks but a real, warm experience unfolding right before their eyes.
We invited Pre-K parents into the classrooms to decorate Newton's first Christmas season with their children. Under the teachers' guidance, parents and children personally adorned walls, hung ornaments, and together lit up their festive corners. K2 and K3 children also got hands-on, cutting and pasting to create unique Santa Clauses and creative decorations, spreading a fairytale festive atmosphere throughout every classroom.
In this moment, the joy of the holiday was personally ignited, and the curtain of Christmas quietly rose.
Love and Protection: Migratory Birds' Festive Greetings
In this season full of love, we directed the children's attention to the freest travelers in the sky, migratory birds. Combining the theme of bird migration in autumn and winter, teachers used vivid explanations, visual materials, and video recordings to introduce children to the habits of migratory birds, and help them understand the challenges they face and the help they need during their migration. This year, a total of 64 K3 families participated in the "Let the Migratory Birds Fly" public welfare activity, and the kindergarten presented the picture book "Migratory Birds Are Coming" to the children. We believe that as children learn to listen to nature and respect life during their growth, their world will also become broader and softer. These precious feelings are the most moving gifts of this season.
Joyful Gathering: Lighting Up the Christmas Magic Night Together
From Pre-K to K3, every child had their own Christmas script. They transformed into little performers, confidently singing and dancing gracefully on stage, celebrating the holiday in an innocent way.
All activities were centered on "joint participation." Parents temporarily set aside their busy schedules, returned to their childlike wonder, and connected emotionally with their children amidst laughter.
In musical rhythms, parents and children became musical playmates, dancing together; in the photo booth, Santa Claus guarded the children's fairytale dreams, and family photos became a warm holiday keepsake.
The game sessions were also filled with laughter: "Yes or No" and "Who Am I" exercised logical thinking through fun puzzles; "Newton Rock Band" and "Mom, Take the Stage" saw parents confidently take to the stage, instantly transforming it into a show; "Dad, Disappear" was full of mystery, helping children understand game rules in a joyful atmosphere... Through interaction and cooperation, parent-child relationships quietly warmed, and every moment of companionship was the warmest gift of this Christmas.
As night fell, children emerged holding star lights, jointly counting down to light up the Christmas tree. We believe that the meaning of the holiday extends beyond gifts and decorations, allowing young hearts to naturally perceive the cultural connotations of respect, sharing, and love amidst the celebrations.
Love and Companionship: Every Day with You is a Holiday
The busy and fulfilling Christmas series of activities came to an end, with children surrounded by love and gifts: surprises carefully prepared by parents, handmade Christmas crafts, and a sweet Newton-made souvenir, warming their departure into the night. What remained was not just laughter, but memories of families side-by-side, the unspoken understanding between friends, and a beautiful experience of diverse cultures.
The warmth of the holiday continues---
This Christmas, we gathered because of love. May this joy warm your entire winter. All Newton faculty and staff sincerely wish you: Merry Christmas!
