A Class Experience Brimming with Discovery and Growth
The open day activities revolved around the imaginative and creative world of dots and stripes. Our specially designed English and Chinese lessons, "Dot, Dot, Dot" and "Where's Spot?", captivated the children, whom their teachers guided to explore and interact with the concepts in depth. Parents had the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of their child's learning and life at school through interaction and participation, witnessing their little one's every step of growth. In the classes, laughter and growth intertwined, making every moment meaningful.
Unlocking the Magic of Collaborative Learning
After observing the engaging interactive English and Chinese lessons, the children ventured into a whimsical world of dots and stripes, beautifully crafted by our teachers. A joyful parent-child rhythm activity launched a journey of exploration filled with creativity and challenges. Each moment of parent-child interaction allowed the children to experience the endless artistic charm and exciting discoveries that dots and stripes offered.
The Dots and Stripes Challenge
Colorful "little dots" got lost in a "stripe" maze! Using their quick little hands and tongs, the children maneuvered through the maze, rising to the challenge of returning the lost "little dots" to their color-matching "homes." In this game that required both cleverness and care, the children experienced the joy of dots and stripes while also learning perseverance and concentration!
Mischievous Sock Match-Up
Playful, colorful socks lost their partners while having too much fun! With their keen observation skills, the children helped them find each other and used little heart-shaped clips to hold their "hands," preventing them from getting lost again. This simple game became more lively with its playful, personified story, not only exercising the children's observation skills but also filling the activity with childish fun and joy!
DIY Bag Creative Workshop
Using dots and stripes to create unique love! Children used different-sized "dots" and varying thicknesses "stripes" to create stamped patterns, strung candy-colored wooden beads into cute ornaments, and decorated their DIY bags with fluffy hearts. A special gift full of love was born – the most special "heart bag" for Mom!
Super Animal Groomer
In nature, spots and stripes adorn animals, making them both beautiful and protected! However, some little animals had lost all their "dots" and "stripes," and even their facial features had disappeared! The children transformed into super animal beauticians, finding the facial features and giving them the most beautiful "clothes." After completing the task, the children proudly took photos with the animals they had decorated, their sense of accomplishment evident!
Dots and Stripes Photo Fun
With the teachers' clever touch, the activity room instantly transformed into a dot-and-stripe fairy-tale world! Colorful polka-dot umbrellas and balloons, Yayoi Kusama-inspired polka-dot pumpkin murals, and little animals dressed in adorable dot-and-stripe outfits—every corner was filled with artistic flair. The children stepped into this playful and artistic world of dots and stripes, striking creative poses and capturing their own special memories!
In this vibrant month of May, we came together on campus, using polka dots to celebrate the children's smiles and stripes to capture the footprints of their growth. With the warm companionship of their parents, the children enjoyed a wonderful time filled with joy and meaning. We look forward to seeing you again next time to witness every exciting step of your child's growth at Newton!
